Firsthand Funds is a family of technology mutual funds based in Silicon Valley led by renown fund manager, Kevin Landis. Firsthand was founded by technology industry veterans who believed that the combination of fundamental analysis and "firsthand" industry experience leads to better investment decisions. In the past, Firsthand's flagship fund, Technology Value, has been awarded the distinction of having the best 5-year performance of all mutual funds.

In 2001, Luna Design was hired by Firsthand to design and implement several intranet sites and Web-based applications. While at Firsthand, we also:

• Enhanced the interface for the external site that allows shareholders to manage their accounts.
• Participated in the evaluation of new back-end systems that run the company's portfolios.
• Learned ColdFusion and SQL Server "on the fly" to use as key implementation components.
