Liberty Northwest is a subsidiary of Liberty Mutual focused on meeting the
insurance needs of the Northwest community. Their products include homeowners,
auto, business and worker's compensation insurance.
In 2003, Liberty Northwest hired Luis Navarro to serve as Senior Information
Architect and Business Analyst. Luis is a key member on the IT team that is
creating a new system that automates the policy entry and underwriting process
for the company's personal lines products (auto and homeowners insurance).
While at Liberty Northwest, Luis:
- Analyzed business processes and served as a liaison between the
business and development teams.
- Designed information architecture, layouts and interactions for
web-based agent and underwriting user interfaces.
- Developed JSP templates and fully interactive mockups on Apache
Tomcat and MySQL to test out designs and speed the development process.
- Analyzed several technologies for use in future products.
